In Manu National Park, one can appreciate some of these species, but with the passage of time, the people who live in the buffer zone of Manu have destroyed their habitat. This has put some species, such as the blue-headed macaw (primolios couloni), the chestnut-fronted macaw (ara severa), the yellow-crowned parrot (amazonas ochrocecephala), and the dusky-headed parakeet (aratinga weddellii), in danger of extinction.
